Event: Sermon recording
Type: Live to Zoom + OBS recording
Location: Chapel
Production gaps:
SL16 IN - digital usb audio (from PC Zoom > USB) is crackling. Is it my laptop or usb config or SL16 config? is the recording affected by this ??
SL16 OUT - recording volume is LOW (and linked to HOUSE, which is linked to resonance)
OBS recording: audio was a mess
OBS scene switching: does audio source "stay"?
I need a recording checklist / cheatsheet to be printed
Learnt:
- ocenaudio crashed. uninstall.
- Starting Capture 3, setting block size (DirectAudio??) magically fixed the USB 3.0 audio glitch???? And/Or https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040806071-Connecting-Quantum-series-to-Windows-10
I will pay money for someone to explain / fix this!~ - NDI Scan Converter output appears frozen until its capture source has an update to broadcast. e.g. When PowerPoint which hasn't changed to next slide yet, won't send an update and the NDI Studio Monitor appears frozen.
- When headset gain is too high, it will pick up 'echo' (feedback). Leaked into first few minutes of the recording.
Next week:
- NDI slides
***requested + increase size of slide overlay in OBS scene***
- Try NDI Powerpoint (github)? - No, not actually using Powerpoint but Scan Converter. - to boost mic vol, record from a separate aux mix (use digital patching to send to USB 1 & 2 into Audacity) rather than pushing the house volume
- Troubleshoot the OBS audio recording
fixed:
ethernet fixed. Installed the GBE switch (which was a cleanup day roadside pickup. amazing what people throw out.)
