Every church could to with a bit of black magic
OBT technician (quote similar to "It's a black magic [design] world and we're just living in it")
It was cool meeting the guys at openboxtechnology. I made a few tech requests haha but eventually went with their system than my own gear for the sake of simplicity and perhaps sanity too.
Thunderbolt 3 issues on my XPS 15...
At this point I am seriously considering buying a second laptop for serious production stuff, maybe a Metabox. My personal XPS 15 9570 has really been causing quite a bit of headache for me this year.
Issue: The BM UltraStudio had a Thunderbolt 3 interface which my XPS 15 did not like. The Desktop Video Setup did not detect the hardware, even though it was showing the in Thunderbolt Software. BIOS Assist
- NDI ethernet dropouts
- NDI recording bad (skipped frames). Also turned out to be a 100GB MOV file. 7GB away from full disk ahaha
- Didn't need zoom recording
- But we did manage to find the PTZ control over NDI... which is pretty awesome! hehe
- iMac for slides rebooted and did a system software update by itself RIGHT BEFORE the start of the event. !?? Forgot to restart Scan Converter upon reboot.
- Wedding itself was great. (Reception:) I loved hearing the speeches from the bridesmaids, groomsmen and newly weds. Always great hearing how friendships preserve through the hard times and good times. And always need to thank the parents :)) HAHA and wow their dance
- Quite a lot of people have begun commenting that I should make this wedding livestreaming a 'thing'. Like how people do wedding photography, videography and floral arragements and decor.
