Majesty Rising is a new & upcoming local soul gospel music project, bringing awesome songs of praise to God.
So far I’ve brought 3 different groups of friends to Majesty Rising gigs. Like inviting people to hear the gospel – put the invite out and see whoever is interested to come along with me… it was kinda weird posting on my social media / and chat groups to ask around😅. But everyone I’ve brought have enjoyed it!
I found about this project through (somehow?) being on the Lo Behold Projects mailing list – and that was probably from attending an Aslandia gig some time back – outside of a KYCK weekend where they usually serve at 😛.
Some awesome songwriting, lyrics and music arrangements have gone into this project, taking inspiration from scripture (you bet Pslams & more), and even Martin Luther e.g. "Learn to know Christ and him crucified", (kinda like how Brooke Fraser turned some words from C.S. Lewis into a song). Plus some good ol’ gospel songs (AMEN!!). A great energy, and genuinely music that I actually enjoy, yay! I am quite keen for their recordings to hit the internet, hopefully soon 🙂
Refreshing to see fellow Christians use their creative skills and gifts to bring praise to God. How cool is it to be able to create and write songs. And a reminder to myself that creative projects are worthwhile pursuits too – particularly in seasons where I get bogged down in life / church / admin / ministry tasks.
